General

  • Aura Professionals are perfect for your larger and more complex fixed wing models!
    • They offer two isolated high power battery inputs
    • They offer a model power switching capability.
    • They have additional input/output options for serial data and can support a huge number of unique servo outputs!
      • Example of a Spektrum 9030T driving via SRXL into Aura 12 Professional port A with a standard Aura 8 connected via SRXL out on the Pro's port B
        • 9030T has 6 ports available (Throttle, CH5, CH6, CH7, CH8, CH9). Great place for things like flaps and scale options.
        • Aura 12 Professional has 12 ports available (S1-12). Perfect of high powered gyro enabled flight controls.
        • Standard Aura 8 used as a channel expander has 8 ports available (S1-S8). Great place for accessories and scale options. Also can be gyro enabled.
        • Total of 26 unique servo ports (18 without the Aura 8 as a channel expander) from an affordable 9 channel receiver!

Battery Choices

The choice of the battery/power supply is completely up to the user. Here are some suggestions based on our teams experience.

  • We are primarily using LiPo and LiFe 2-cell batteries with high voltage servos and accessories for our Pro Class aircraft
    • For smaller sized aircraft, each pack can be 1200 to 2500mAh
    • For medium sized aircraft, each pack can be 2000 to 4000mAh
    • For large sized aircraft, each pack can be 3000 to 6000mAh
  • 15C or higher discharge rates are generally a good choice solid voltage under load.
  • Our team generally does not use regulators. In the world of high voltage servos and lithium batteries, many consider the most reliable system is free of these regulators. In the past Spektrum (SPMVR6007, SPMVR6010) made ones that are since discontinued that can be used between each battery and the Aura Professional. The two regulators must be very well matched to keep the packs current draw balanced.
