Electric Setup
Motor
- (1) 200-size Brushless, for 12S Li-Po Batteries
- We recommend the Potenza 200 175kv Motor (FPZM200A)
Speed Controller (ESC)
- (1) 80A HV (12S Li-Po Compatible) ESC with no BEC
- We recommend the Castle Creations Phoenix Edge HV 80 (FPZPHXEDGE80HV)
Motor Batteries
- (2) 6S (22.2V) 3500-4200mAh 40C+ Lithium Polymer Batteries wired in series (for 12S, 44.4V)
- We recommend (2) Potenza 6S 4200mAh 40C Li-Po Batteries wired in series (FPZB42006S40)
Propeller
- Consult your motor/ESC manual for recommendations. Verifying proper current draw may be required.
- We recommend the Falcon 21x10E (FPMPFC2110E) or APC 20x11 for use with the Potenza 200.
Other Accessories
- (1) 12-inch (305mm) Heavy Duty Servo Extension (Throttle/ESC)
Gas Setup
Engine
- (1) 30-40cc Gasoline Internal Combustion Engine
- We recommend the Desert Aircraft DA-35 (FPMDA35)
- (1) Exhaust System that works in conjunction with your engine
- We recommend the Desert Aircraft Pitts-style muffler for the DA-35.
- If you wish to use a tuned pipe or canister, the Yak will accept this exhaust quite easily.
- For the DA-35, we recommend a header drop of 0mm
Ignition Battery
- (1) 2S (7.4V) 1000-2000mAh Lithium Polymer Battery. Verify proper voltages for your particular ignition system!
- We recommend (1) Potenza 2S 1300mAh 25C Li-Po Battery (FPZBR13002S25)
Propeller
- Consult your engine manual for recommendations.
- We recommend the Falcon 20x8 (FPMPFC2008) for use with the DA-35 on a standard Pitts muffler.
Servos
- (1) Standard-size servo (Throttle)
- We recommend (1) DS-222 HV Servo (FPZDS22209HV) for throttle purposes.
- (1) Standard-size servo (Choke)
- We recommend (1) DS-222 HV Servo (FPZDS22209HV)
- This is optional. A mechanical choke linkage is also an option, and the preferred method of actuating the choke
Other Accessories
- (1) 6-inch (150mm) Heavy Duty Servo Extension (Choke, Optional)
- (1) 3-inch (76mm) Heavy Duty Servo Extension (Throttle)
- 3-Feet (1 meter) Tygon Gas Fuel Tubing (large diameter)
Both Electric and Gas Setups
Receiver
- With Aura 8 AFCS
- Any modern 7-channel Receiver Capable of a Digital Connection (Such as Spektrum SRXL, Futaba S.Bus etc.). Reference the Yak/Aura Setup Wiki:
